Cleaning Method Of Extrusion Granulator Screw

**Extruder Screw Cleaning Methods**
The extruder is a common piece of equipment in the electronics industry. To maintain the plastic granulator in optimal working condition and ensure efficient production, regular maintenance and cleaning are necessary. This article outlines the methods for cleaning the extruder screw:
**1. Epoxy Resin Cleaning Method**
Use an alkyd resin or epoxy resin adhesive for cleaning. This method is generally applied to new machines or those that have been in use for a while. If raw materials remain in the screw or barrel and affect the extrusion rate or cause significant color changes, this method is recommended.
**2. Disassembly and Cleaning**
1. Feed the washing material through the feed opening until the color of the extrusion strip matches that of the washing material. Then stop feeding, discharge the raw materials, and halt the screw rotation of the twin-screw extruder.
2. Open the material pipe of the extruder and gradually remove it.
3. Rotate the screw of the twin-screw extruder to remove the filler. Discharge any residual washing material from the gun tube and remove the filler.
4. After disassembling, check if the screw is clean and remove any remaining material manually. Reassemble the screw, add new material to clean out any residual washing material from the gun tube, and stop the screw rotation.
5. Reassemble the twin-screw extruder's filler and material tube, and perform the actual cleaning operation.
**3. Fire Method**
Using fire to remove plastic fixed on the screw is a very effective method often used in plastic granulation enterprises. After applying the screw, use a gas furnace for cleaning. At this stage, the screw still contains heat from the production process, so the heat is evenly distributed.
