The Air-Cooled Hot Cutting Granulator
Jul 11, 2024
The air-cooled hot cutting granulator is a molding machine that can manufacture materials into specific shapes.
Working principle: After the plastic enters the screw from the hopper, it is transported forward under the action of the rotating screw through the friction between the inner wall of the barrel and the screw surface. In the screw feeding section, the loose solid particles (or powder) fill the screw groove. , as the material continues to be transported, the material begins to be compacted. When the material enters the compression section, due to the gradually shallowing depth of the screw groove and the resistance of the machine head, the plastic gradually develops high pressure and is further compacted.
At the same time, under the action of the external heating of the barrel and the internal friction and shear heat generated by the strong stirring, mixing and shear friction of the screw and the inner surface of the barrel on the material, the temperature of the plastic continues to rise and it comes into contact with the barrel. At a certain point, the plastic temperature reaches the melting point and begins to melt. As the material is transported and heated continues, the amount of molten material gradually increases, while the amount of unmelted material decreases accordingly. At about the end of the compression section, all the materials are transformed into a viscous flow state, but the temperature at each point is not yet uniform at this time. After the homogenization section, the homogenization effect is relatively uniform. The rear screw quantifies the molten material, constant pressure, and constant temperature. Squeeze it into the machine head. The middle die of the machine head is a forming part, through which the material obtains the geometric shape and size of the precise cross-section, and then through cooling, shaping and other processes, the formed product can be obtained.

Air-cooled hot cutting granulator operation method:
Twin screw extruder granulator
1.Before turning on the machine
Let it warm up for about forty or fifty minutes. Raise the temperature until the motor V-belt is pulled freely by hand; pull it continuously eight to ten times in the normal working direction. Then continue to heat up for about ten minutes, and then turn on the machine, but continue to heat up, because normal production requires continuous replenishment of heat;
Adjust different temperatures according to different properties of plastics.

2.When the granulator is working normally
The temperature of the machine should be kept stable and should not fluctuate high or low. The temperature near the vent hole and up to the machine head should be maintained at about 200°C (referring to materials C and B).
When using the air-cooled hot-cut granulator, paying attention to the above-mentioned related operating matters can not only improve the safety of the operation, but also further improve the work efficiency and ensure the smooth development of the work.
